Culling for Quality

So every now and then I go through my oeuvre and trash or repurpose those of lesser quality. It’s rare that I keep anything right after it’s creation that isn’t at least moderately successful. Still time often changes my view of a piece. Then too, hopefully my work improves the more I do. The newer stuff isn’t always better than the old, but most of the time it is. ¬†These are some that are on the “chopping block”. The watercolors I usually cut up and use for collage or “weaving”. The other paintings can be gessoed over. The mixed media are harder. Those I often just unframed and store as a memento of where I’ve been. This lessens the framing bills too, because I definitely can always reuse those!
