Themes Can Be Challenging

Themed shows can often push you into unfamiliar territory. That’s a good thing! You can learn a lot about yourself and more thoroughly get acquainted with the elements and principles. The Art Guild of Orange Park is putting on a show “Monochrome Magic”. Luckily we had a lot of lead time for this one. I started planning back in February. I made a large piece of yellow paper, that I knew I wanted to enter some how. I also had used up some leftover blue paint to do some print making with found objects way back in January of 2024. If you are only using one color then all the other elements become way more important. Good composition and values art critical. It makes you think about things like: “What’s the difference between Blue/Green and Green/Blue” and “Is there such a thing as dark yellow?”, “How do you make it?”.

Masquerade Ball

I am a long time member of the Art Guild of Orange Park. This years fundraising event will be a Masquerade Ball! We spent the summer creating all sorts of unique masks for attendees to purchase. The Guild always puts on a great party. Your meager ticket price of $50 will get you food and fun, music and dance, art and other auction items.
